Using Drawings
You will mainly use the Current Drawings tab but you can search for old drawing revisions by going to the Drawing Set tab.
You can subscribe to drawings on the Current Drawings page by clicking the Subscribe tick box – this will ensure that you are notified (via email) when a new/updated drawing has been uploaded.
Select drawings in bulk by selecting the tick box next to the drawing set name.
- When selected, you can look at the tab on the right to download or email the drawing in bulk
Click the arrow next to the set name to collapse to make it easier to navigate the set.
Slide the toggle at the top of the drawing list to see more info for each drawing.
Click the drawing number or Open to open a drawing.
The drawing name and revision will be at the top of the drawing that opens with dropdown bars – click the dropdown to quickly navigate to different drawings and/or revisions. If the revision is coloured yellow or red, you are not in the current revision.
Scroll to zoom, click and drag to move across the drawing.
The top right of the screen will show the tools.
The The Info tab will have the drawings information (name, set name, discipline, date etc.). Click View Info at the bottom of the pop-out to see more info – this will show you things like previous versions, linked emails, Change History etc.
There is a project search feature (search bar at very top of page) or a tool only search feature (search bar near the top of the page under the page name/title.
For a general search use the Project search to make sure it is showing you all info from all tools.
For a specific item (e.g. RFI, drawing etc.) use the tool specific search. This is especially handy for drawings to find a specific item e.g. specific door or window.
Within the tool you can also filter by discipline or set name.
You can layer multiple filters.
Mark Ups
Click the Markup sign on the top right of your page.
This will open up a small column on the left side of the screen with editing tools.
The tools are:
- Select – you can select individual items with the hand, or click and select Multi or Lasso to select multiple items
- Pen - to draw or highlight with your mouse. Change the colour by clicking Pen, then the colour and size from the bottom of the list
- Cloud - to draw a cloud, box, or ellipse. Choose the colour and fill same as above
- Arrow - draw an arrow, line, or double arrow. Choose the colour and thickness same as above
- Text - to draw and fill a text box. You can choose if it has a fill and what colour the same as above
- Distance - if you use this tool, you will need to calibrate first. A popup will show to prompt this
Find a measurement on the drawing (e.g. a wall with its length marked) and draw a line along it and enter the measurement. Now you can use the measure tool by clicking the measure tool and drawing lines or boxes for what you want to measure. You can also use the Freehand measure tool to draw other shapes, though this may not be as accurate - Drawing - click to link this drawing to another drawing. Click, then draw a circle and select the drawing to link. Now when you click on the circle you have just drawn you will be taken to the linked drawing
- Photos - may also show as Defects or Obs (observations). Select the relevant item and click. Draw the prompted shape, select the relevant defect, observation, or photo.
If you have noted a defect at a particular item on the drawing, Procore will automatically send a snapshot of the area selected to the Trade Partner assigned to the relevant defect
Markups you make will only be visible to you until you click Select, select the items you want to make public, and click Publish. Once markups are Published other users will now be able to see them.
To delete a markup, click the markup and click the Bin symbol.
The paperclip symbol when you click on a markup is to link other items e.g. you can link a document from the Documents tool, a Correspondence, an RFI, Inspection etc. You can link the same markup to multiple items.
It is best to have all of the items you may want to link set up before linking them – you can create an RFI from the drawing link option but it will only be a draft, so it is better just to create the RFI normally and then link it.
Click the Filter sign on the top right of the page to filter markups per the shown categories. Use to narrow down and show only the info you need.
