What is an incident?
An incident on a construction site refers to any unplanned event or occurrence that results in, or has the potential to cause, injury, property damage, or any other form of harm. These incidents can range from minor accidents to major disasters.
When should I complete an incident?
Any and all incidents and near misses must be reported through the Procore Incidents tool either on Procore mobile or through Procore web.
1. Open the Procore Incidents tool and click Create.
2. This will take you to the Incident information page.
- Title*: summarise the incident in a few words.
- Distribution: Yourself, Site Manager, Project Manager, Leading Hand, Michaela Murray, and your regions H&S Representative.
- Location: if known.
- Event Date*.
- Event Time* if known.
- If unsure of the exact time the incident occurred, click the Time Unknown box.
- Notifiable: if the incident required notifying to WorkSafe, select this.
If it is a notifiable incident, further action will be required outside of Procore before the incident can be closed.
- Private: Yes
- Description: summarise the incident
- Attach any photos for reference
- Select the relevant items in the Investigation Information section.
3. Once you have submitted the incidents your region's H&S coordinator will be in touch with you to do an investigation or close out the incident.
