Defects

It is good to use the Procore Defects tool throughout the project rather than only at the end – this ensures that Defects are remedied as you go.

To create a new Defect, open the Procore Defects tool and click to the All Items tab

Click +Create in the top left-hand corner of the page

Items marked with a * are compulsory where other items are not, though it is better to enter as much information as possible

  • Title*: a few words to summarise the Defect
  • Number*: will automatically update
  • Defect Item Manager*: Cook Brothers Site Manager
  • Type: there should be a report type/stage set up to select. If not, confirm with the Cook Brothers Project Manager
  • Assignee: leave blanks (the Defect Item Manager will assign this)
  • Due Date: will automatically generate
  • Final Approver: either the Cook Brothers Site Manager or yourself/relevant consultant
  • Distribution: Cook Brothers Site Manager, Cook Brothers Project Manager, Yourself
  • Description: a description of the defect item, location, and action required
  • Attach a photo of the defect to the item in Procore then select Save

The next screen will prompt you to Send to Defect Manager. They will then Send to Assignee

When the work has been completed, the Defect Item Manager (CBC Site Manager) will review the work and if they accept it you will then receive an email notification telling you that the Defect item is ready to close

Review the work competed and if it is satisfactory, open the Defect item

In the Ready to Close section at the top of the page, comment that the work has ben accepted and attach any photos/documents, then click Close Defect Item
